St. Cloud celebrates lights and winter nights

The city of St. Cloud is holding a couple of events in December that will help to usher in the holiday season.

The first event is the 25th Festival of Lights celebration at St. Cloud Hospital. There will be rides on a horse-drawn vehicle, reindeer, carols, and a live nativity scene. The festival is hosted by the St. Cloud Hospital Auxiliary, and all guests are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Food Shelf.

Two days later, the Winter Nights and Lights Parade will take place downtown. Prior to the evening events, however, families can visit the Winter Wonderland at Lake George. This is set to include arts and crafts, a petting zoo, a penguin exhibit, and an outdoor carnival.

Later in the afternoon and before the parade, the 5K Santa Fun Run will take place and everyone is encouraged to register for it. The parade itself has theme of ‘Storybook Holiday’, which will be reflected in illuminated floats. Guests can also enjoy listening to festive music.

St. Cloud businesses are encouraged to sponsor either event. Sponsors often work with local printing companies to produce a product that will advertise their involvement in such community events.

The Festival of Lights will take place on December 5 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, while Winter Nights and Lights Parade is happening on December 7 from 4:30 pm – 9:00 pm, with the fun run beginning at 4:00 pm. For more information, contact Brad at 320-257-8601.
