The Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award will be presented to Joe Torre this year. The presentation will be hosted by Womanspace.

Joe Torre, former baseball player and coach and the current Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations for Major League Baseball, runs the Joe Torre Safe at Home Foundation that provides support and safe homes for people who are trying to escape domestic violence, while also catering for their children.

The award is named after former Princeton mayor Barbara Boggs Sigmund. The winner receives a light lilac porcelain rose in memory of Ms. Sigmund.

In addition to the awards ceremony, guests will enjoy a sit-down dinner. They can also purchase raffle tickets for $50 each. Sponsorships from $500 to $15,000 are also available and advertisements can be purchased for the Journal, which will be published to remember the event.

Organizers of events such as this, which attract people from all over the area, including Cranbury, often invest in services such as sign and banner printing to help recognize the sponsors.

The Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award dinner and ceremony is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Princeton on April 30 from 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm. Tickets are $150 each and tables of 10 are available for $1,500. To find out more about the event, or the award itself, contact Susan D. Kleist at 609-394-0136.
