Used clothes find new life
November 14, 2012 by Mark
A New Brighton parent group is looking for donations of used children’s clothes and toys.
The parent advisory group representing the Mounds View Early Childhood Programs will accept donations of gently used clothes for babies and toddlers, maternity clothes, or clothing for kids up to the age of 12 (size 14) up until this Friday, November 16.
This event is not only a fundraiser, but also a public service event which serves the families of New Brighton who will be able to get quality items second hand. The event can be best advertised through word of mouth, flyer printing, and poster printing services.
This is an excellent opportunity for parents to clean out closets and put clothing no longer required to good use. Sales of this type are valuable to young parents who need equipment or clothing for their children, yet are unable to afford to purchase new items from a store.
Other accepted donations include baby equipment (provided it meets current safety standards), clean toys, and books in good condition, which will be passed along to needy families in the New Brighton area. All donations can be dropped off at the Pike Lake Education Centre, which is located at 2101 14th Street NW in New Brighton.
The clothing will be sold during the annual Pass-It-Along event, which will be held at the Pike Lake Education Centre from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on November 19 and 9:30 am to 11:30 am on November 20. This is an event the parent group holds every season as a school fundraiser. Admission to the sale is free to the public.
