United Properties to open senior complex in 2014

United Properties recently announced that it will be opening a new senior living community in Forest Lake, about a half-hour drive from New Brighton, Minnesota, by the summer of 2014.

The community is located on West Broadway Avenue on three acres that United Properties purchased following the vacation of Stock Building Supply. No doubt flyer printing and poster printing are being used to inform the community of the new facility so that those who are most interested in living there will be able to find accommodations.

According to the executive vice president of Minneapolis-based United Properties, Brian P. Carey, the name of the community will be Cherrywood Pointe of Forest Lake and it is expected to house between 100 and 150 people. It will include options for memory care, semi-assisted living, and independent living.

Carey said that although a contractor has not been chosen for the buildings yet, construction is expected to begin late this summer and residents will be able to move in during the summer of 2014. He did not comment on the cost of the project, how many jobs would be created by the construction, or what the levels of rent would be for the various types of units.

United Properties has built seven independent senior living communities in Maple Grove, Bloomington, New Brighton, and Roseville that serve a total of 1,000 seniors all under the name of Applewood Pointe Cooperative. Another senior complex was recently opened by the company in Roseville.
