Minneapolis runs for the 4th

June 19, 2017 by

The eighth annual Red, White & Boom! TC half Marathon, relay and 5K will be part of our 4th of July celebration again this year in Minneapolis.

This event will have three races. There will be a half marathon individual race at the same time as a half marathon 2- person relay, an adult 5 K and a kid’s 5 K. For those runners who can’t make to the event there is a virtual Red, White and Boom race.

All runners will receive short-sleeve shirts, event promotional drinkware, finisher medals, and photos taken at the finish line.

Spectator spots will be along the half marathon route so supporters can get a good view of their favorite runners. Everyone is encouraged to bring banners and signs to show support for their athletes. Entertainment groups are reserving these spots along the route to entertain the crowds. Some groups will be dance teams, rock and marching bands, cheer squads, choirs and local musicians.

During the runs, families are invited to a BBQ near the finish line where kids can enjoy a slip and slide and games. There will also be a live DJ.

The event will be July 4th. The half marathon will start at 6:30 am on northbound West River Parkway while the 5k will begin at 6:50 am on Main Street N.E. All races will end at the Stone Arch Bridge.
