Date set for annual Taste of Itasca event

April 23, 2013 by

Bridges Kinship Mentoring recently announced that its fifth annual Taste of Itasca fundraiser event will be held at Grand Rapids location The Timberlake Lodge in early May.

No doubt flyer printing and poster printing are being used to announce this event as only 300 tickets will be available for advance purchase and all seats are on a reserved basis.

Eateries in the area will be showcased in the event and will offer tasters of their individual specialties, including beer and wine tastings, beginning at 5:00 pm. After that, at 6:30 pm, the food tastings will begin, followed by an auction. Highlights of the menu include barbeque beef brisket, seafood bisque, barley and wild rice salad, mini-shrimp tostadas, pork scaloppini, oriental chicken salad, and numerous dessert offerings.

Some of the items to be auctioned include a four-person fly fishing trip in Canada, some hand-crafted Adirondack chairs, a dinner for eight on Deer Lake, and an beautiful swan ornament carved by hand. The event usually ends by 8:30 in the evening.

Many people and businesses collaborate to put together this event and donate their talents and time. Bridges Kinship Mentoring is the recipient of all of the proceeds, which go towards youth and adult mentoring based in the community, youth programming for after school, mentoring based on site, and Lunch Buddies. At the moment, 18 children need matching with a mentor.

The annual fundraiser is due to take place on the evening of Tuesday, May 7.
