Savor the tastes of Kansas

The Kansas City Festival of Wine and Food will take place at the Overland Park Convention Center on August 11 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Tickets for last year’s event were $75 with all proceeds going towards the American Heart Association. In addition to the main event, there will be a Wine Maker’s Dinner at J. Gilbert‘s Wood-Fired Steaks and Seafood on August 9 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. This is a five-course dinner complemented with fine wines.

There will be over 300 wines, gourmet food from local restaurants, silent and live auctions, and a Reserve Room select tasting. Local companies will no doubt be donating items to the auctions. Donations to such a worthy cause will be appreciated not only by the organization but by members of the public who value companies that are known to donate to charities. It has been shown that companies who are dedicated to helping in the community often get more business because of it. Those Overland Park companies can let the public know about their donations by arranging for services such as flyer printing, creating and printing a flyer that can be distributed in the community to inform about the event and their part in it. This will not only possibly get more people to attend the event, it will also show the company’s dedication to helping worthy organizations in the community.

There can surely be few better ways to help create a healthier community than by celebrating with local gourmet food and fine wines. Those who are helped by the American Heart Association are bound to greatly appreciate it.
