New business complex to haul in jobs

SCHEELS, a well-known sporting goods retailer, is opening a new shopping complex in Overland Park. The company broke ground on September 25 and the complex is expected to open in the summer of 2015.
The 220,000 square foot complex will feature entertainment facilities, boutiques, and specialty sports shops. It will be the largest shopping complex in the area, and plans are to include a world class golf shop, a canoe and kayak shop, a bicycle shop, and a ski shop.
The complex will also feature a 16,000 gallon aquarium, a 65 foot Ferris wheel, shooting galleries, and a wildlife mountain. Shoppers will also be able to test their skills in a variety of sports, such as basketball and football, and take part in some laser shot shooting. Another attraction will include two animated talking U.S. Presidents. The food court will feature Starbucks, Gramma Ginna’s (which is a deli and fudge shop), and a variety of restaurants.
The opening of this new complex in Overland Park will provide 400 jobs for sale associates. SCHEELS is known for paying the highest salaries and providing a strong level of training in the retail industry.
When the complex finally opens, it is very likely that Overland Park printing companies will be hired to help in marketing this new shopping experience. This will probably include flyers to be distributed within the community, as well as advertising posters and brochures.
