Legislators share their business knowledge for the year ahead

December 12, 2012 by

The Overland Park Chamber of Commerce and the Johnson County Public Policy Council will be holding a succession of legislative breakfasts in 2013. Each of these will feature local government officials who will share with the business community what they plan to do in the coming year and to discuss the issues that affect local business directly. It is a chance for Overland Park business leaders to meet with their elected officials and ask questions about their policies, make suggestions, and allow their voices to be heard on a variety of issues.

These breakfasts, in addition to informing business owners on upcoming changes to the law which will influence how they do business in the coming year, will also be an excellent networking opportunity for Overland Park businesspersons. No doubt many who plan to attend will be arranging for business card printing in advance. There will be plenty of time for business peers to exchange business cards and maybe even to give their ‘elevator speech’.

There will be five legislative breakfasts in 2013 taking place on January 19, February 15, March 9, March 23, and April 20. Each breakfast takes place at the Ritz Charles Overland Park from 7:30 am – 9:00 am. Each date is a Saturday morning, allowing more businesspeople to attend. Dress is business casual. The price for each breakfast is $20 for Chamber members, or $95 for all five, while non-members pay $25 for each one. For more information, call 913-491-3600.
