All rise for fall celebrations

September 16, 2012 by

With the fall now well in season, now is the time to look forward to the The 52nd Overland Park Fall Festival taking place at the end of the month.

The day will start off with a parade, beginning on 79th Street and proceeding down Santa Fe to Robinson beginning at 10:00 am. Spectators are advised to bring chairs or blankets to sit on. Community members such as school groups, charity and service organizations, political candidates, government officials, marching bands, and businesses can all apply to take part in the parade.

Those who are accepted will no doubt prepare for the parade by contacting Overland Park printing companies. These can provide such items as large banners for marching bands or the kind that can be hung on floats or other vehicles.

After the parade, there will be live musical entertainment across three stages, children’s activities such as inflatables, food concessions, food trucks, and an arts and crafts fair. Artists and crafters can rent booths at the festival from $85 to $300. They also might be working with printing companies to provide them with flyer printing, sign printing and poster printing services, which can then be distributed in several different ways to ensure that the largest number of people possible is made aware of an upcoming event.

The long-running festival will take place at Santa Fe Commons Park on September 29. For more information on this event, which is free to attend, call the Downtown of Partnership at 913-642-2222.
