Start your Christmas shopping at the Bizarre Bazaar

November 18, 2011 by

The Bizarre Bazaar will be held at the Lawrence Arts Center on November 25-26. This annual event is always held on Thanksgiving weekend and helps to kick start the holiday shopping season.

130 area artists are slated to take part in this year’s Bizarre Bazaar; this is considered a non-juried show and artists were accepted on a first come, first served basis. Among the artists expected to be selling their artworks during the weekend are Tami Albin, a ceramics artist, Kay Trieb, a photographer, Elise Keeling, who creates postcards and calendars, and Tony Peterson, another photographer.

In addition to artworks for sale, there will be lots of food and two musical stages which will present entertainment all day long. Admission is free and the Bizarre will take place on Friday from 5-9pm and on Saturday from 9 am-5 pm.

The Bizarre Bazaar is not only a great place to buy a unique Christmas gift for a friend or loved one, but it is also a gallery of the type of contemporary art being created in the Lawrence area. The event organizers of this annual Lawrence event have created a simple poster which provides all the necessary information. It seems that every year’s poster is a simple, hand-drawn poster. Printing this out and sharing it with your friends will ensure that the Bizarre Bazaar is a big success; and the simple black and white poster will not use up all your coloured ink.
