Network at the annual meeting and dinner of the Lawrence Chamber of Commerce
January 20, 2012 by James
The Lawrence Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual meeting and dinner at the Holiday Inn Lawrence Hotel and Convention Center on January 27 from 5:30-10 pm. Tickets are $75 and cocktail attire is required. The event is for Chamber members only.
The keynote speaker at the dinner will be Neeli Bendapudi of the Kansas University School of Business. She is the H.D. Price Dean and also teaches marketing. Her current interest is studying “customer willingness and ability to maintain long-term relationships…with the employers and brands that represent them.” She will be able to pass on some useful advice to Chamber members.
There will also be a chance to network with your Lawrence business peers. Arranging for business card printing before you plan to attend is a smart choice. While it is mainly a social event there will be many chances to exchange business cards with your fellow Chamber members.
Joining your local Chamber of Commerce is one of the most intelligent things a business owner can do. Not only do you meet your business peers, but you are also given the opportunity to attend workshops, conferences and numerous networking events sponsored by the Chamber. A Chamber of Commerce membership also gives you easier access to city and state government officials and helps you to cut through the red tape every business owner has to face. The cost of a Chamber of Commerce membership will be returned to you in referrals, business opportunities and marketing opportunities.
