Enjoy some wine and food in Lawrence
June 19, 2012 by Mark
“Salut! 2012” will take place in and around Massachusetts Street and the Oread Hotel from July 12 – 14. All proceeds will go towards Cottownwood, Inc. and the event is expected to draw 600 people or more. Last year, the event raised over $100,000.
14 downtown businesses are taking part in the Mass Street Mosey on July 12 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with tickets priced $50, and guests will be able to sample wine and food at the various establishments. Taking part in this event is a smart idea for downtown businesses who may be having trouble drawing shoppers, as people will have a chance to look around the store and are more than likely to come back to do some shopping after the event. Lawrence printing companies can help those stores prepare for Salut! 2012 by providing services such as banner printing and flyer printing.
There will be a Gourmet Winemaker Dinner on July 13 at the Oread Hotel, beginning at 6:30 pm. Guests pay $150 for a wine reception and a gourmet dinner at the event, which is sponsored by Buena Vista Winery. Salut! will finish off with a Grand Tasting, held at the Oread Hotel on July 14. Tickets are $75, which includes the chance to sample up to 250 wines, a commemorative wine glass, a totebag and a butler tray. Live and silent auctions will be taking place throughout the night.
It can be hard for many communities to draw people to the downtown area, so events such as Salut! 2012 get those people downtown to experience what the area has to offer.
