Chilling tour offered to brave Davenport folk
October 9, 2013 by Max
The upcoming ‘Haunted House Tour’ is provided by the Davenport Jaycees and is an annual event providing families with the chance to enjoy some Halloween fun while supporting a fundraising initiative. No doubt some decidedly ghoulish poster printing is being used to advertise this hair-raising event to people in this community, as well as in the surrounding areas.
The tour originates from the 1990s and has grown in popularity over the years. Today, Davenport represents the final calling point of the event and proceeds from ticket sales benefit needy children in the Quad-Cities.
Guests on the tour can expect plenty of unexpected chills, some scary thrills, and lots of blood-curdling screams and gore using construction, trickery, and creative deception. At the present time, the Jaycees are accepting assistance from those in the community who would like to help construct the set or participate in some other way, as no skills or experience are necessary. To add to the volume and intensity, all great screamers will be accepted. For families, this provides a safe and fun way to get into the Halloween spirit under supervision.
Tickets cost $10 per person and everyone is welcome. The Haunted House Tour will run on Friday and Saturday evenings from Friday, October 11 until Saturday, October 26, from 7:00 pm to midnight. There will also be a special opening on Thursday, October 31 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Davenport Jaycee’s Haunted House located at 319 Western Avenue in Davenport, Iowa.
