Library presentation of ‘Living with Alzheimer’s’

On Thursday, May 17th, the Alzheimer’s Association will be presenting “Living with Alzheimer’s” at the Valparaiso Public Library located at 103 Jefferson Street in Valparaiso, Indiana, just a few minutes outside of Portage, Indiana. This event is scheduled to start at 6pm.
The Living with Alzheimer’s evening is part of the “Alzheimer’s Educational Series” put on by the Alzheimer’s Association. This three-part program is designed to assist those living with the early stages of Alzheimer’s, as well as those who are caring for people with the early stages of the disease. This informational evening will cover information from when the patient is first diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and through the various stages that take place as this debilitating condition. Caregivers will be provided with information to assist them with having opportunities to take advantage of hospice services, so that they can get away from their daily live for a few hours, while the patient is being cared for. There will also be other information able about programs in the local area. This educational event will focus on various ways to keep the patient interested in various hobbies and activities, and what treatments are now available to slow the progression of the disease.
Flyer printing and poster printing for this event have been used to advertise this to the public. There is no admission charge for this event.
