On Friday, March 2, 2012, Indianapolis citizens are invited to attend WFYI’s 13th Ice Miller Wine Fest. This event takes place from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Indiana Roof Ballroom, 140 West Washington St., Indianapolis, Indiana.

Just as the daffodils bloom, the WFYI will be kicking of this remarkable evening with a sampling of fine wine tasting, stimulating and interesting conversation, and festive entertainment in one of Indianapolis’ most historic destinations. This year features international, national, and local Indiana wines, all served up in a grand fashion in the ballroom.

Whether you enjoy a Merlot, a Chardonnay, or a Riesling wine is fat free, has no cholesterol, and one four ounce glass of wine only has about 500 calories; not to mention, red wine has great health benefits. Wine enthusiasts, who pay for premium tickets, will have access to the balcony where they can sample foods and specialty wines in an area set out for the fine connoisseurs. Tickets to the connoisseur’s area are $120.00 per person, while general tickets to the event are $50.00 per person.

Indiana has 35 wineries that attract more than 900,000 visitors each year. Some of the wineries participating this year include Chateau Thomas, Huber’s Orchard & Winery, Oliver Winery, Turtle Run Winery, and InVie Wine Group.

Local printing companies have produced spectacular tickets, which are available by calling 317-715-2009 or online at http://wfyi.org/winefest. Locally, tickets are available at any Kahn’ Fine Wines and Spirit Locations, with this year’s proceeds going to WFYI’s Lifelong Learning and Public Media programs.
