Indianapolis hotel wins prestigious award

An Indianapolis hotel, the Marriott Downtown, has won the prestigious Gold Key Award for the fourth year in a row.

The award is given by Meeting & Conventions Magazine, and goes to hotels that provide exceptional service to guests who are staying at the venue to attend a meeting or convention.

The magazine’s readers nominated the hotels that were considered for the award and voted for the winners. Criteria for selection included the quality of the meeting rooms; the attitude of staff members; the quality of the services provided to guests; the quality of the food, beverages, and food handling service itself; the staff’s proficiency at dealing with reservations; the availability of the technical and support equipment needed to facilitate successful meetings and the variety and availability of the hotel’s recreational facilities.

Phil Ray, General Manager of the hotel, said he was proud of his entire staff, since everyone involved with the Marriott contributed to the win. He went on to say that the award shows the hotel understands how to work with group clients to achieve outstanding results.

The Marriott Downtown is managed by White Lodging Services Corporation, a Merrillville, Indiana company that owns, develops, and operates hotels across the nation, with the aim of helping mid- and large-scale hotels achieve sustainable growth. Among the brands White represents are Hilton Worldwide, InterContinental Hotel Group, and Hyatt Global.

The Marriott could have digital business cards printed for its employees, adding the award to the text to increase awareness of the achievement.
