Wheeling chamber to help out area restaurants
November 27, 2013 by Sarah
The Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce’s Hospitality Group is presenting the ‘Taste of the Town’ celebration this December. Expected to attract around 1,000 people, the event helps to showcase eateries in the Restaurant Row of the city.
Those who attend the Taste of the Town will enjoy samples from area restaurants, wine and beer tasting, and a cash bar. They will also get to enjoy demonstrations from celebrity chefs such as Younghee Woo and Mychael Bonner, together with live holiday music, a silent auction, and raffles. Proceeds will go to support the Chamber of Commerce and the Korean Cultural Center of Chicago, and local businesses will be donating items for the auction.
In the two weeks leading up to this event, area restaurants will be participating in the Restaurant Row Dine-Around, providing special offers to diners, free food samples, and tasting evenings. Both events will work together to showcase the choice of great diners in the area, and to bring them some welcome attention.
A flyer has been created for the event, which has likely been widely distributed in Wheeling, perhaps with the help of a local printing company
The Restaurant Row Dine-Around is taking place from November 29 to December 15, and for those interested in the Taste of the Town event, is being held at the Westin Chicago North Shore on December 12 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the door. For information, contact the Wheeling/Prospect Chamber of Commerce at 847-541-0170.
