Parade to get going this evening

The 15th Annual Holly Days Frosty and Friends Parade gets going this evening and is sure to be a great opportunity for families to share some quality time with each other and friends in the community. This parade takes place in downtown Westmont and will feature some favorite visitors for this traditional kick-off to the holiday season.
This year’s parade is being sponsored by Westmont Auto Mile and will include the tree lighting ceremony, as it has done in past years. The parade will make its way down the parade route, while community members enjoy the characters like the Grinch, a very large stilt walker, reindeers, music from marching bands, dancers, and flying carpets.
Prior to the parade, which starts at 6:45 pm, the holiday opening ceremony will be begin at 5:00 pm with live entertainment, hot cocoa, and other goodies. There will be music from the Choral of the Holy Trinity Church and the Westmont High School Madregals. Children will be able to meet some real reindeers who have arrived from the North Pole, while the Westview Hills Middle School Band will perform live. Santa and Mrs. Claus will assist with the countdown for the tree lighting and children can share wishes with Santa and have their pictures taken free as well.
Flyer and poster printing were most likely used to notify the community of when this festive holiday kick-off would be. Admission is free to all and everyone is invited to attend.
