June is the month of jazz in O’Fallon

The city of O’Fallon is having a couple of events this month that involve both jazz and food. It’s a great way to celebrate the coming summer and to get everyone out in the community to spend time with their friends and family.

The first event is a Jazzfest and Ice Cream Social at Faith Lutheran Church on June 2 beginning at 6:45 pm. It will feature such bands as Twilight Jazz, Dixieland Delight, Triumphant Thunder, and Swingin’ Sisters. There will also be lots of ice cream. This is a “give what you wish” event and all funds raised will go towards Joplin Tornado Relief.

Later, on June 16, “Sip, Savor, Swing” will take place at St. Clare Church from 7:00 pm – 11:00 pm. Tickets are $30 in advance and $45 at the gate, with a $50 VIP ticket available offering access to a limosine both on the way there and back home. The event will feature samples of wine and craft beers as well as gourmet food prepared by professional chefs. It will also feature a cash bar, jazz music from the Yard Dawgs, dancing, and a “Wine Wall” raffle. Local businesses will be providing various raffle gifts such as gift certificates, wine, and beer.

Both of these events will most likely draw people from all over the area including the nearby town of Shiloh. Local printing companies will no doubt be providing the organizers of these events with poster printing and banner printing services to help them to advertize and get ready for these two events.
