Pumpkin party to get Centennial Park pumping

September 24, 2012 by

The Great Pumpkin Party will take place at the Centennial Park Warming House in early October, offering tons of family-friendly activities like hayrides, crafts, stories by campfire, roasting marshmallows, food concessions, a flashlight pumpkin hunt.

These attractions will be supplemented by a range of contests. A scarecrow contest will take place on the day from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. Organizers will provide the stuffing for the scarecrow, but those taking part must supply his or her clothes and accessories. The pet costume parade will begin at 4:30 PM and will feature favorite pets dressed up in a variety of costumes. There will be at least four different prizes given out to pets and their owners, making it a fun event both for families and their beloved pets. A banana cream pie eating contest will have categories in three separate age groups, with prizes awarded to the gut-busting winners in each category.

In all likelihood, Orland Park printing companies will be helping to supply products such as banners, ribbons, and flags to the organizers of the Great Pumpkin Party. Also, it is likely that flyers will be created to inform the community of the upcoming party. Flyers are very inexpensive and can help to generate excitement about certain events.

Perhaps the perfect way for the family to start thinking of Halloween and all the fun that surrounds it, all the fun is on offer on October 6 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. For more information on this free-to-attend event, call 708-403-7275.
