Orland Park holiday season set to kick in

The holidays are almost here and several towns and cities are planning to hold special celebrations for residents. One such event is the Holiday Festival and Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony taking place next month in Orland Park.
Mayor Dan McLaughlin will be lighting the tree located in front of the Village Hall in the evening. In past years, the decorations on the tree were made by local residents and groups so as to keep things community-focused.
Before the ceremony takes place, there will be an abundance of activities for the entire family to take enjoy, including visiting Santa Claus, free sleigh rides, face painting, and food concessions. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras in order to take their little ones’ picture with Santa.
Children will also have the chance to make holiday crafts to take home with them. In addition, live entertainment from local choirs and bands will entertain the rest of the family throughout the afternoon.
To advertise events like this festival, Orland Park organizers may have turned to local printing companies in the past to provide products such as flyers, which can be cheaply distributed in the community, or poster printing experts for local exposure.
The Holiday Festival will be held at the Orland Park Civic Center on December 1 from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm, with Tree Lighting Ceremony scheduled at the Village Hall beginning at 5:45 pm. Admission to both events is free. For more information, call 708-403-7275.
