The Social Media Strategies Summit is being held at the Blackstone hotel in Chicago from April 18-19. Tickets are $1295, and $1095 for non-profit and government organizations, with workshops an extra $395 each.

This event has been named

“#2 of top five business events to attend.”

It is recommended that people such as marketing professionals, business owners and PR professionals attend this summit. Company representatives from all over the area, including Morton Grove, who are in charge of marketing would be wise to attend the Social Media Strategies Summit; while flyer printing and distribution is still a viable type of marketing campaign, an online presence is also recommended.

The summit will feature hands-on workshops, keynote speakers, presentation and networking opportunities. Speakers will be representing several media organizations, business corporations and websites such as Intel, AOL, Bing, Spout Social, Bitly, McDonalds, Volvo and Ajax Social Media. They will be talking about “emerging strategies, tactics and the top 10 dos and don’ts of social media marketing.” Those who attend will learn how to optimize their Facebook presence, the proper use of Twitter, SEO tips, information about social media promotions and tips about word of mouth marketing.

The keynote speaker will be Mary Massura, discussing “The social media nation: why you’re in it for good.” Workshops will include topics such as:

“Facebook advertising: maintaining and optimizing engagement”, “The keys to a successful social promotion” and “Social media 101: back to the basics.”
