Gala gets smart with the arts

The 11th annual Gala of the Arts will be held at the Navy Pier Grand Ballroom in Chicago on September 7 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Tickets are $250 per person and black tie is recommended.

Attendees will have a chance to take part in the Golden Raffle, with tickets prices at $50 each or three for $100. Last year’s prizes included an iPad and a one-week stay at a resort in Acapulco. All proceeds will go toward the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago emergency assistance programs.

This year’s theme is ‘All we need is love’ and the main entertainment for the evening will be provided by American English: the Complete Beatles Tribute, with Allison Rosat acting as the evening emcee. The evening will start off with cocktails being served and an art show and sale. It will be followed by dinner, the presentation of the Mandatum Award, and the musical show. The Mandatum Award is given to an individual who is dedicated to serving the poor.

Artists are chosen for the show by invitation only and those who sell their work will receive a charitable donation tax credit. Sponsorships are available from $500 to $50,000 and all sponsors will be mentioned in all promotional literature and in the program guide. Sponsors are likely to include businesses from all over Chicago, including nearby Morton Grove. Organizers of the event will no doubt be working with local brochure printers to design and print the program guide.
