McHenry Rotary event set for early August

July 29, 2013 by

The McHenry Rotary Blues, Brews and BBQ event is taking place over three days very shortly.

There will be a wide variety of activities to take part in over the three days, including listening to musicians such as the Blooze Brothers, Toronzo Cannon, and John Todd. There will also be an amateur BBQ cook-off for a top-of-the-line barbecue prize, a volleyball tournament, and vendors, some of whom will be selling food.

This year, a Sunset 5K Run for Youth Leadership has also been planned. The organization provides college and vocational scholarships to McHenry high school students.

Vendors can rent space for $500 or $750 if they are non-food and non-profit, or $750 or $1,000 for food sellers. No doubt most of the vendors taking part will be working with McHenry printing companies to prepare. This might include investing in items such as flyers for advertising their goods or banners to make their booths more attractive to passers-by.

McHenry Rotary Blues, Brews and BBQ will take place at Petersen Park from August 2 to 4. Admission is $10 per day or $20 for a three-day pass, while children aged 12 and under are admitted free of charge.

The Sunset 5K will happen on August 3 at 7:00 pm, for which registration fees are $30 in advance or $35 at the door and participants will receive a T-shirt, while the BBQ cook-off will take place on August 4 and registration costs $15. Visit the event website for more information.
