McHenry Fiesta Days almost upon us once more
June 29, 2013 by Mark
It is only a couple of weeks now until the annual McHenry Fiesta Days takes place over a 10-day period in downtown McHenry.
Fiesta Days feature a music festival, arts and crafts, a Shakespeare festival, the plywood boat challenge, and a parade among its activities. The Music Fest will take place in Petersen Park. Bands such as Evolution, Dory Drive, and Libido Funk Circus will be performing.
Arts and Crafts in the Park will take place at Veteran’s Memorial Park on July 20 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm. It will feature many unique, handmade items for sale, such as paintings, clothing, and ceramic items.
Other events taking place over the 10-day festival include a BMX bike show, a car show, an open track meet, the McHenry River Run, and a children’s ice cream social. Food and beer will also be available for purchase, all of which adds up to a diverse and widely-catering week and a half.
No doubt organizers of McHenry Fiesta Days have worked with local printing companies to produce the Fiesta Days Guide. This lists every single event taking place, including location and admission price if any. It will likely be distributed throughout the community as the event gets nearer.
McHenry Fiesta Days take place from July 12-21. The parade will begin at Veteran’s Memorial Park on the final day at 1:30 pm, during which it will travel down Main Street and end up at Washington Street and Riverside Drive. For more information, call 815-385-4300.
