Gala honors mentors who make a difference

For people in the area looking for a seasonal way to celebrate, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of McHenry County is hosting the Magic of Mentoring Fall Gala in mid-November, allowing locals to enjoy an evening of music and entertainment while also supporting a good cause.
The gala will be hosted by Val Warner and will honor those who have made a difference to the lives of boys and girls through mentoring. Those who attend will be treated to a cocktail hour with roaming musical entertainment provide by the Littles, and can take part in a silent auction. The reception will be followed by a sit-down dinner and the BIG of the Year awards presentations.
Magician Rich Ferguson will also be entertaining the crowd, and he will preside over the Mystery Box opening. There are a couple of sponsorships available for $1,000 as a table host and $2,500 as a gala patron. Local businesses will also be donating the majority of the items that will be offered in the silent auction.
Invitations for this annual gala were mailed out in early October, and it is likely that McHenry printing companies helped to design and print the colorful paper products.
The Magic of Mentoring Fall Gala is being held at Boulder Ridge Country Club on November 15 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Tickets are $125 each or $225 for two. To find out more about the evening’s events, contact Haylee Hall at 815-385-3855.
