Businesswomen prepare for McHenry get-together

February 27, 2013 by

The McHenry Chamber of Commerce has a new program for working women, which will host a luncheon in just a couple of weeks’ time.

The Women’s Interactive Network Group (WINGS) is for women business owners and their female employees. One of the many opportunities the group provides monthly luncheon meetings so that they can share what is important to them as women in business.

The theme of the next luncheon which will take place in March is “women of accomplishment” and several businesswomen who were nominated by other members will be celebrated. The guest speaker at the luncheon will be Dr. Fran Glosson of Community Learning Strategies and Integration. There will be networking opportunities before and during lunch, followed by a talk from the guest speaker.

WINGS is designed to help out female business professionals by giving members a regular networking event to share their concerns and unique problems of women in business. No doubt many of those McHenry and area women will be arranging for business card printing in advance of the luncheon. There will many opportunities to exchange cards and they will want to know they have enough cards to exchange, that those cards are in perfect condition, and that their contact information is bang up to date

The WINGS luncheon will take place at the 31 North Banquet and Conference Center on March 13 from 11:45 am – 1:15 pm. Tickets are $38 for chamber members and $33 for non-members. For more information, call 815-385-4300.
