Young at Heart Festival beats again in Loves Park

April 29, 2013 by

The Young at Heart (YAH) Festival is now in its 41st year, and will come to Loves Park once again next month

The festival, which is presented by the Parks Chamber of Commerce, will feature live musical performances, amusement rides, children’s activities, and food for sale. There will also be a beauty pageant, and a fishing derby. A special parade will travel down North Second Street from Woodward to Theodore Street as well.

In addition, budding singers can take part in YAH Idol. There are three divisions of competition: age 10-13, 14-17, and 18 and up. Finalists will perform live and be voted on by the audience. There are cash prizes of $200 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd place, and $50 for 3rd place. There will definitely be something at the festival which will appeal to the entire family.

It is very likely that organizers of the festival will be investing in such services as poster and flyer printing from local printing companies to help advertise in the Loves Park area. These products can be posted in public areas or sent out by direct mail to help spread the word.

The festival will take place at the City Hall Grounds from May 24 – 27. Buttons, which are good for all four days of the event, can be purchased for $8 at the door or $5 in advance, and children aged 8 and under are admitted for free. Those who require more information can call the Parks Chamber of Commerce at 815-633-3999.
