Local museum kicks off anniversary celebrations

The Local – Burpee Summer Festival is taking place next month, acting as a fundraiser for the Burpee Museum of Natural History and the kickoff to its 75th anniversary.

So far, five craft breweries, ten restaurants, and ten pizzerias have signed up to provide unlimited food samples for guests, as well as two dessert providers. There will also be musical entertainment provided by Radio Stars Unplugged and Clutch Cargo.

Other activities will include a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction. While attending the festival, guests will have the opportunity to tour the museum or enjoy a walk along the Riverwalk. VIP tickets are available for purchase that will include a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum.

Sponsorships are available from $500 up to $12,500. Sponsors will be recognized on signs posted in the venue, and outdoor banner and marketing posters that will be distributed throughout the area.

Events such as these attract visitors from all over Rockford and Loves Park, and when their organizers wish to advertise, they often contact local printing companies for help.

The Local – Burpee Summer Festival will be held at the Burpee Museum of Natural History on August 27 from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Tickets are $50 each or $75 for VIP. To learn more about the evening’s planned activities, or to become a sponsor, call 815-965-3433.
