Learn about budget planning at local seminar

The Rockford Chamber of Commerce is presenting the IGNITE Breakfast and Business: Budget Planning seminar on January 25 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center from 7:30-8:30 am.
The seminar will be led by David Larson of Associated Bank who will give tips on budget planning for every business. There will also be a chance to network with fellow business people from all over the area.
Not every business can afford to have an accountant on staff or have an accounting department; seminars such as this are helpful for small businesses, self-employed people and for businesses just starting out. Many businesses have failed not from bad management or from lack of interest but from just plain bad planning. It is important that business owners know exactly where the money has gone and how to ensure it is invested in a way that will guarantee the continuation of the company.
The breakfast will also give area business leaders a chance to network with one another and to meet new potential clients in a relaxed and casual setting. Those planning to attend should arrange with local printing companies, such as those in nearby Loves Park, to have business cards printed. A business card is a necessity to spread the word about a business; it is also a highly inexpensive marketing tool. While most can design and print their own business cards, it is probably smarter to arrange for a professional to create business cards for a professional look. The first impression people get about your business will come from your business card. If your card is flimsy or poorly designed, it could hurt a business before a person can even describe what it is they do.
