Conference discusses the importance of sister cities

March 26, 2013 by

The 2013 Illinois Sister Cities Association Annual Convention is coming to Rockford this April.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Building deeper sister cities relationships’. Presented by the Rockford Sister City Advisory Commission, it will feature a banquet, networking opportunities, a luncheon, and some guest speakers. Some of the offers at the banquet will include free beer and wine, international cuisine representing nine sister city countries, a reception, dinner, and a cash bar. It will be an excellent chance for those attending the conference to meet and greet each other in a casual atmosphere.

The event will start off with breakfast, followed by an ISCA business meeting. After that, keynote speaker Mary Kane of Sister Cities International will speak to the conference. This will be followed by lunch, more speakers, and closing ceremonies.

Lunch is sure to offer a great networking opportunity for all those in attendance. It will give them a chance to exchange business cards and possibly forge new working relationships with people from all over Illinois, including nearby Loves Park. With that in mind, many who will be attending will likely be arranging for business card printing services in advance, making sure they have tip-top condition cards with up-to-date details on them.

The conference will take place at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Rockford over the weekend of April 19 – 20. Tickets are $90 or $40 for the banquet only and $50 for the conference only. For more information, call 815-987-8100.
