Celebrate Italy in Rockford

July 8, 2012 by

The Festa Italiana will take place at Boylan High School in Rockford on August 3 – 5. Admission is $5 and those aged 12 and under are admitted free when accompanied by an adult, with carnival rides costing extra. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting the Greater Rockford Italian American Association scholarship fund.

There will be lots of Italian food and desserts, live entertainment from such acts as Mr. Big Stuff and the Amici Italiani Dance Troupe, an Italian cultural exhibit, souvenirs for sale, bocce tournaments, children’s crafts, and carnival rides. Unlimited carnival rides will be available on August 4 and 5 for $15.

This event should bring people of Italian decent, or those interested in all things Italian, from all over the area including nearby Loves Park. Local printing companies will most likely be providing services such as banner printing and poster printing to the organizers of the event. There will be banners needed to decorate the area and there will be a need for posters to advertise this popular annual event. Posters are a versatile medium because they can be hung in public areas of the city, mailed to area residents, or sold as a way of making extra money for the scholarship fund.

Festa Italiana sounds like the perfect way for the family to spend a summer weekend and there is something that will probably appeal to everyone. Attending will also guarantee that a deserving student will receive a scholarship to continue his or her education.
