June 26, 2013 by

The 26th annual Byron Fest is taking place for three days this July and is a family-friendly community celebration presented by the Byron Chamber of Commerce.

Various venues throughout Byron will be hosting events during the festival, which will include a car show, softball games, a 5K run, and a parade. There will also be a carnival midway, several stages, a beer garden, and a children’s area. In addition, local artisans will be selling their arts and crafts, with a quilt show and the ‘Taste of Byron’ event among the offerings.

There will also be several contests taking place during the festival, including a quilt competition and a bean bag throwing tournament for cash prizes. Some of the musical acts appearing at Byron Fest include Stage Fright and Back Country Roads, offering something for everyone in the family at the festival.

The festival will likely attract visitors from all local areas, with Loves Park being no exception. Organizers will probably be working with local printing companies to design and print marketing materials to be distributed throughout the community.

Byron Fest will take place over the weekend of July 12 – 14. Admission buttons are $6 in advance or $8 at the gate, although admission is free on Family Day, which is July 14.

Ride tickets are available in strips of 10 for $17.50 in advance, or $20 during the festival; advance tickets only use 1 ticket per ride while regular tickets might require 2-4. For more information, call 815-234-5500.
