Upcoming event lets visitors swap and shop for BMX bikes

The 13th annual Midwest Oldschool Show and Swap is returning to Crown Point this February.

The show will feature a wide variety of bikes for swap, a BMX show, raffles and awards. Any one is welcome to display their own bike for free; over 350 were displayed at last year’s show. In addition, there will be food and drink to purchase and a performance by the band Rough Boyzz. Event t-shirts will also be on sale for $20 each while they last. Vendors are also welcome; they can rent a 10×10 foot space for $35. Some of those already confirmed include a tour company and the Midwest Donation Program.

Bike owners can compete for awards under several categories and a Best in Show plaque will also be awarded. These categories include 1991 and up 20 inch, Retro and Cruisers 1970-1979. The first and second place of each will receive recognition.

No doubt this show will attract plenty BMX enthusiasts from all over, including nearby Lansing. It is possible that organizers have invested in services such as flyer and poster printing to inform the community of the show. They may have also gotten their local printing company to provide them with the t-shirts.

Donations are still being accepted for the raffle.

The Midwest Oldschool Show and Swap is taking place at Crown Point Fair Grounds on February 8 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Admission is free. To find out more about the show, call 219-374-5722.
