Saturday festival to rock the sidewalks

The Eat, Shop and Rock Sidewalk Sale and Fest will take place in Hammond on August 4 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. The sale will take place on Hohman Avenue.
This year’s Fest is a tribute to the 60s and the 70s. Keeping with this, there will be Beatles, Elvis, and 60s and 70s merchandise for sale, Fab Four contests, vintage cars, adult and children’s coloring contests, music from the Chris and Lou band, and a wealth of vendor booths. The Fab Four contests will have divisions for children and adults and will consist of singing, lookalikes, and trivia. Vendors can rent space on the sidewalks for $35.
The Fest should attract people from all around the area, including neighboring Lansing, hoping to get a taste of the fun. Vendors who wish to take part in the event would be wise to work with local printing companies to prepare for Eat, Shop and Rock. Print companies could provide them with colorful banners for their tents, with signage, catalogs, and even promotional items to hand out to passers-by.
Events like this help to draw people into the downtown area and to let them see for themselves what their community has to offer in terms of shopping. As a rule, they will find there are unique and well-made items to be bought and interesting things to discover, which is bound to be the message they hope to portray to those locals who may prefer to do their shopping in large stores.
