Lansing to honor veterans with dinner
March 19, 2013 by Mark
The 3rd annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner will take place in Lansing next month. Gaining popularity every year, it is sponsored by the lansing Junior Woman’s Club and the Lansing Lions Club.
Both organizations hold several fundraising events throughout the year in order to hold events like this for deserving community members. Other groups, such as the Boy Scouts, also donate their time to help during most events. The attendance for last year was twice what it had been the previous year, and no doubt the numbers will grow again for this year’s dinner.
The appreciation dinner is free to any veterans and military personnel on active duty, each of whom are entitled to bring one guest. The evening will feature a sit-down dinner, live entertainment, raffles, and a guest speaker.
The Lansing Lions Club recently celebrated its 75th year in the area, while the Lansing Woman’s Club is over 60 years old. Both organizations have been helping to improve their community through their fundraising efforts, and will no doubt be depending upon the services of Lansing printing companies to help them get the word out about this event. In the build-up to events like these, flyers are an inexpensive way of getting the word out and can reach a large number of people in a very short time.
The Veterans Appreciation Dinner will take place at the Lansing Knights of Columbus on April 18 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Those who plan to attend must RSVP before April 9 by calling 708-516-3423.
