Oktoberfest brews up a month early

The Platzkonzert Germanfest will take place at Virginia May Hayter Village Green next month. This is a free annual event presented by the Hoffman Estates Arts Commission.
The festival will have an Oktoberfest theme, despite being help in early September, and will feature Bavarian music and dancers, German food, wine and beer for purchase, contests, and children’s activities. It looks likely to be an excellent way for the community to celebrate together.
Organizers of the festival will no doubt be working with Hoffman Estates printing companies to prepare for this popular annual event. They will surely consider having large banners to hang over the event location, as well as signs to show people where to go and list all those companies that are responsible for the event.
The Hoffman Estates Arts Commission is volunteer driven and advises the city on ways to bring the arts to everyone in the community. Platzkonzer Germanfest is only one of the many artistic and cultural events that the commission helps bring to Hoffman Estates.
Many communities in the United States celebrate Oktoberfest every year and these are not just those communities with a large German population. In fact, the largest Oktoberfest events in the world outside of Germany take place in the United States.
Set for September 8 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, this action-packed event will allow those who live in the city to celebrate with their friends and neighbors, have a fun time, and learn something about another’s culture.
