Festival celebrates Celtic culture in Hoffman Estates

February 27, 2014 by

The 3rd annual Northwest Celtic Fest is returning to Hoffman Estates this March, hosted by the Celtic Fest Commission.

There will be plenty of free activities for the public to enjoy during the festival, including live entertainment, a soccer tournament, and golf and soccer clinics. There are also expected to be games and a climbing wall for those of all ages.

Alternatively, visitors can enjoy a Highland sheep dog herding demonstration, beer and whiskey tasting, and the Pipe Band Invitational. It should be a good way to celebrate those who belong to or who are interested in learning about the Celtic culture.

Vendors will also be on hand and, while the majority will be selling Celtic related merchandise, there will be a variety of different local businesses participating.

Organizers of the event are still looking for volunteers to help with tasks like running activities, cleaning up, or selling food.

Some of the Hoffman Estates businesses planning to appear at the festival may plan to invest in services such as banner printing to help draw attention to their booths.

The Northwest Celtic Fest is taking place at the Sears Centre Arena on March 22 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is free. To find out more information, or to become a vendor or volunteer, contact Sue Lessen at 847-781-2606.
