The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo

In mid-April, the Windy City will be host to Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2). A select few hotels are offering discounted rates to those who are attending the convention, such as the Red Roof Inn, Chicago’s Essex Inn and Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. During the expo, a large variety of exhibits will be showcased, and more sponsors and company owners pour in every day to contribute to the list.

Even in its late stages of development and planning, shows and events are consistently being moved around and rescheduled. Events such as the Monster Ball and the Humans VS. Zombies showdown will be the highlights of C2E2, as well as small events for the younger crowd with Ben’s Bubble Show and the Kid’s Costume Contest. At the end of the day, families, friends new and old will likely retire to a variety of different restaurants. One such dinner event will be hosted at Girl and the Goat on April 13, where guests will have their once in a lifetime opportunity to sit and meet Joe Quesada, Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, and Wolverine writer Jason Aaron.

Throughout the entirety of the expo, comic book printing companies and their representatives will be hard-pressed to sell their works to the many attending. Poster printing will be on the rise days before the convention so that on the day of, fans can show their support for their favorite shows, comics and heroes by buying their posters portraying them in various ways.

C2E2 will take place at the North Building at McCormick Place on 2301 South Lake Shore Dr. in Chicago, Illinois on April 13 through April 15.
