Network on the golf course this summer

The Oak Park – River Forest Chamber of Commerce is having its annual golf outing at Gleneagles Country Club on July 16 beginning at 8:30 am. Fees are $130 per golfer, $500 for a foursome, $100 without dinner, or $55 for dinner only.
Fees will include an extensive package of attractions, including 18 holes of golf, the use of a golf cart, a goody bag, beverage tickets, a hot breakfast, lunch, dinner, giveaways, a sponsored hole, a free margarita bar, free chair massages from Kneaded Work, and 100 draws for prizes. Prizes will be handed out during the dinner.
Most chambers of commerce in the United States seem to sponsor a golf outing for their members and potential members during the summer months. It has been suggested that a lot of business has been done on the golf course, so it is only fitting that a chamber of commerce arranges such outings. There is no hard sell on the golf course but there may be some discussion and the exchange of business cards with the promise to follow up at a later time. That is why those from the immediate area, including Lyons, who plan to attend this outing should make sure to bring a business card. Printing a few extra is advised to avoid running out of cards, so it may be worth consulting a print company first. It also ensures that the cards are in pristine condition, since no-one wants to receive a card which is bent or has smudged print. The cards can then be placed in a golf bag for easy access.
