Annual Fishing Derby on its way to Hickory Hills
August 13, 2012 by Mark
On Saturday, August 25, the ‘Annual Fishing Derby’ will cast its rods at the Martin Park located at 89th Pl. and 78th Avenue in Hickory Hills, Illinois. Running from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, it should offer a fun and relaxing morning for those who love being beside water.
This annual fishing derby is being sponsored by the Sertoma Club of Hickory Hills and is geared to people older than six years of age. Those over 17 years of age will require a valid fishing license to take part.
This is a ‘catch and release’ event, so all fish caught must be returned to the pond, and all participants must supply their own fishing rods and bait. There will be awards provided for the biggest fish caught in each age category and all participants will be entered into a free raffle. All children must catch their own fish in order to qualify and guests will only be allowed one pole per person while fishing.
Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to advertise and promote this outdoor derby to residents in the community and surrounding area. Admission to this event is free, although drivers are advised that they must use the designated parking lots and cars that park on the street may receive tickets. For more information, please visit the Hickory Hills Park District website or call their office during normal business hours.
