All rise for Rose this weekend
November 15, 2013 by Sarah
Olympia Dukakis, a renowned television and movie actress, is appearing as ‘Rose’ in a weekend performance about a Jewish woman’s life. Poster printing and other printing services might have been used to tell people in this community, and the surrounding communities about this special performance.
‘Rose’ was written by Martin Sherman and is a one-woman play about a lady who has survived some the 20th Century’s outstanding major events using a sense of humor, lots of guile, and a resounding spirit. Her remarkable life started in a very small Russian village, before travelling to the ghettos of Warsaw on a ship named The Exodus. After leaving Warsaw, her travels took her to the Atlantic City boardwalk and through the Arizona Canyons with its salsa-flavored evenings to the beautiful Miami Beach.
The star actress, Olympia Dukakis, became a household name at the age of 56 and has turned in many stellar performances, especially her Oscar Winning performance in Moonstruck as Cher’s mother back in 1987. Since then, she has been discovered by both TV and big screen fans.
Ticket prices vary depending on seating selection. The performance of Rose will be happening tomorrow, November 16, at 7:30pm at the Moraine Valley Community College, Fine and Performing Arts Center, located at 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills, Illinois, just down the road from Hickory Hills. To learn more or purchase tickets, please visit the Moraine Valley Community College website or call the box office at 708-974-4300.
