A roaring good run to bring fun to Hickory Hills
October 23, 2013 by Mark
‘Roar and Run for Fun’, now in its fourth year, is a fundraising 5k event presented by the Lions Club, offering people a great way to get out and get some exercise while raising funds for a worthy cause.
The run, no doubt promoted through flyer printing, will begin and end at the Hickory Hills City Hall, with racers’ packet pickup taking place this Friday, October 25, between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm at the city hall. The course is twisty and windy, but should offer plenty for fun for the entire family. Besides the fun run, a fun walk will also to place for those who would prefer to take their time.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the Lions Club’s mission to provide assistance and programs for the visually impaired and blind. The club has been meeting the needs of this community now for more than 50 years. After the race, participants will enjoy some great refreshments, have a chance to claim a selection of door prizes, and be present for the awards ceremony. Those who would like to volunteer or sponsor this event should contact Vince Uzzardo at 708-430-2210.
The cost is $25 per person taking part, and it will be happening this Saturday, October 26, beginning at 9:00 am at the Hickory Hills City Hall located at 8625 W 95th Street in Hickory Hills, Illinois.
