Path to friendly Halloween opens up on Friday
October 22, 2013 by James
Spooks in the Gurnee area can start this weekend with the ‘Halloween Trick or Treat Path’ – an event offering small children the chance to meet a number of their favorite characters and get into the spirit of the Halloween celebration.
The friendly event will provide children between the ages of one and six with a chance to dress up in their most fiendish costume and get outside to enjoy a little Halloween fun. The proceedings take place along the paths at Viking Park and the children will have time to visit more than 50 special characters, including their best loved princesses, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Sponge Bob, Winnie the Pooh, and Elmo.
All in all, the children attending this event will visit more than 50 homes in the area, walking from house to house, and receiving treats from the people who have dressed up as the various characters. This event is sponsored by Great Lakes Credit Union and Honey Orthodontics, and it is likely that print companies will have been kept busy creating promotional literature to be handed out before and during the evening.
The Halloween Trick or Treat Path will be held on Friday, October 25, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Viking Park located at 4398 Old Grand Avenue in Gurnee, Illinois. Prices vary depending on when places are booked. To learn more about this event, or to register, please visit the Gurnee Parks and Recreation Department website or call its offices at 847-623-7788.
