August 9, 2012 by Sarah
The Six Flags Parkway will be celebrating “Irish American Day” this Sunday, August 12, at Six Flags Great America located at 1 Great America Parkway in Gurnee, Illinois. This event begins at 10:00 am and ends at 10:00 pm.
Irish Americans, along with anyone who appreciates their influence, will be celebrating through festivities based on Irish culture. The fun-filled celebrations will include an Irish Dance show, a selection of great Irish music, some traditional Irish foods, and much more. This program is being supported by the Galway Committee of CSCI, the Trinity Dancers, the Irish Immigrant Support Group, and the Irish American Heritage Center.
Promising to be an entertaining and enjoyable family event, tickets for this day of everything Irish can be purchased online at the Six Flags website. Group sales are also available and there will be an Irish Day All-You-Can-Eat Picnic. The kinds of music and dancing synonymous with Ireland will occur throughout the park throughout this rain-or-shine family event, so hats and sunscreen may be required. A number of children’s activities and playgrounds are located on the grounds as well.
Poster printing and digital flyer printing may have been used to advertise this special day to the community and surrounding areas. Tickets for this event cost $29.50 per person at the main gate or people can purchase the entire picnic package, which includes admission and the picnic, for $43.50 per person. For more information, please visit the Six Flags Great America website’s Irish American Day page.
