The city of Chicago is inviting people from near and far to come and celebrate the New Year in style. Of course, this is fantastic news for Evanston residents who have a taste for the finer things in life.

Officially scheduled to take place December 31st, 2011, Centro will be alive from 8:30 p.m. to 2012. In a sleek package that resembles the work of professional brochure printers, this New Year’s event is being advertised as follows:

“Party favors and a balloon drop. Full dinner menu (also available at regular menu price). Table Service available, book your table and receive a complimentary bottle of vodka and champagne. Champagne toast at midnight. Watch the countdown live. Call for details. Reservations required.”

Centro is a relatively new venue that has spared no expense in terms of décor. With sleek interior designs, good food, and careful color coordination, this looks to be fun evening.

For those who prefer a more low-key setting however, the O’Jays are also going to be in Chicago for New Year’s Eve. Featuring their signature blend of sultry vocals and soulful sound, this concert is a must-see. Hosted by the Chicago Theatre and taking place at 9:00 p.m., the timing is perfect for those who want to take in a meal and see the city before winding down. With tickets going anywhere from $69.50 to $99.50, music lovers will be able to hear an accomplished group sing at an affordable price.

As most can imagine, people in Evanston have no shortage of options for New Year’s Eve.
