Hispanic hysteria set for weekend kickoff

Locals can join the City of Evanston as it kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month with a great big party, featuring an assortment of events focusing on Hispanic Culture.
Acting as both a family day out and a learning opportunity, it is likely that various printing services have been used to share the off information with residents of the community and the surrounding areas.
During this event, guests will enjoy a vast selection of Hispanic cultural activities and live entertainment. There will be Hispanic artworks, live music, native food and beverages, and plenty of lively dancing. A Salsa dance contest is planned and will offer cash prizes.
The theme for the kickoff is ‘Serving and Leading Our Nation with Pride and Honor’. The keynote speaker is Henry Godinez, plus there will be Ballet Folkorico, Hermanos Salcedo, and Mariachi Singers.
A celebration of Hispanic Culture, it offers something for people of all ages, and is sponsored by the Hispanic Latino Student Union, Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Fraternity, Inc., and the Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc.
Admission to the kickoff event is free and everyone is invited to attend for what will be the beginning of a month-long celebration. The Hispanic Heritage Kickoff Celebration will be happening this Sunday, September 15, from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Robert Crown Center located at 1701 Main Street in Evanston, Illinois. To find out what events and times are scheduled throughout the day, please visit the City of Evanston’s website or call the city office during business hours.
