Up Theatre presents A Christmas Story this December

November 13, 2012 by

“A Christmas Story” is being presented by Curtain’s Up Theatre Company. This adaptation is a take on the seasonal favorite that many people know and love about Ralph “Ralphie” Parker who tries to convince his parents, Santa, and anyone else who will listen that he should have a Red Ryder B.B. Gun.

During “A Christmas Story”, Ralphie comes up with all kinds of schemes to convince his loving parents that he not only deserves to have the Red Ryder BB gun, but that he should have it, even though they keep telling him he will shoot his eye out.

This performance is being provided by the Curtain’s Up Theatre Company, which is a community based theater that mainly performs in Edwardsville and Collinsville. It is a non-profit organization that provides a performing season and theatrical experiences for these communities. This theater group involves young people and people from the local communities, as it is a wonderful way for them to express their artistic expression. People, who perform with this theater group, spend many hours in rehearsal, although performance opportunities are somewhat limited.

Poster printing, brochure printing, and flyer printing were probably used to promote this special Christmas story to members of the public in this community and surrounding areas. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for children and all ages are welcome. A Christmas Story will be performed from Thursday, December 6 to Saturday, December 8 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 pm at the Wildey Theatre located at 252 N. Main Street in Edwardsville, Illinois. To reserve your seat, please visit the Curtains Up Theatre website or call the box office at 618-670-8030.
