Tribute band ready to ‘Jump’ into the weekend

A high-energy tribute band will be playing music from the early years of a popular heavy metal band this weekend.

Sponsored by Jack Schmitt Chevrolet, the Edwardsville audience will be treated to a performance by Van Halen tribute band Mean Street. Poster printing, flyer printing, and other printing services were likely used to make this performance known to the people in this community and throughout the region.

The group is known for its stage presence and ability to draw the audience in, before having them tapping and clapping, as well as singing along with the songs. The opening number, ‘Runnin’ with the Devil’ hits the stage with the bass guitar droning, and then the synthesizer takes the stage during 1984’s ‘Jump’ number, which is perhaps Van Halen’s best-known tune.

While Van Halen members themselves have been known to struggle to function together over the years, with some confusion over the departures of three former lead-vocalists of the group, this tribute band stays firmly out of such politics and exerts its efforts into its music and stage performance.

Tickets for this performance range between $15 and $25, depending on seats selected. Mean Street will be performing on Saturday, July 13, starting at 8:00 pm at the Wildey Theatre located at 252 North Main Street in Edwardsville, Illinois.
